An hour-long train disruption happened along on the East-West Line (EWL) yesterday (Apr 10) – a day right after Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan’s celebration of “disruption-free” days with SMRT.
Commuters aboard stations between Tanah Merah and Bugis faced delays up to an hour after a screen door at Bedok Station failed to close. Many Singaporeans posted online saying that there is always a train disruption whenever the government hold “train disruption-free” celebrations and interestingly, it has came true.
UPDATE: As of publication time, a second train disruption happened. Details as follow:
Earlier this morning today (Apr 11) at 7.40am, a second disruption happened along the EWL. SMRT announced to add 25 minutes traveling time between Joo Koon and Queenstown. The disruption is still ongoing.
