In his interview with the media earlier this week, Education Minister continued his political rhetoric warning Singaporeans to not vote for the Opposition or else they would squander what the people have inherited and an “entire generation would be set back”:
“I am also anxious that if we make the wrong decisions, what we … have been fortunate to inherit could be squandered very quickly…if the “wrong people” are in charge and flip-flop on policies, an entire generation could be set back. We are poised at a point … to make the right decision … to build on this legacy and try to reach the next peak, (or) we may take the wrong turn and land in a different place.”

Minister Heng Swee Keat urged Singaporeans to think what they want the nation’s future to be, implying that the ruling PAP government is the country’s only savior. He added that most of his government’s decisions are in the right direction and that many Singaporeans remain unable to understand the decisions behind the policies hence there is a need to “communicate better”.
The Minister ended off the interview saying integrity is important, suggesting his government is honest:
“Integrity in terms of basic things like managing public funds, in how we can safeguard public interest, and also integrity in terms of intellectual honesty”
