Through his Attorney General who was his former private lawyer, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has successfully received an approval from the High Court to charge his nephew for contempt and jail him. The permission was given by Justice Kannan Ramesh during a closed hearing today (Aug 21), with a 14-day-window for the “contempt of court” charges to proceed.

Once Lee Hsien Loong proceeds to charge his nephew Li Shengwu, the Singapore Court will conduct the hearing even at the absence of Li Shengwu. Li Shengwu is most probably to be convicted as the dictator Prime Minister never once lost a lawsuit in his own court. A warrant of arrest will be issued by the Singapore government once Li Shengwu is founded guilty for contempt.

Li Shengwu is currently a fellow at Harvard University, and will be taking a professor teaching position in the Ivy League school next October. The son of Lee Hsien Yang has stated that he will not return to Singapore as his uncle Prime Minister is adamant on exiling him and his family. Lee Hsien Yang and his wife Lee Suet Fern had left for HongKong and did not make any intention to return to Singapore either. The political ousting of the younger Lee brother is to pave the way for Lee Hsien Loong’s son, Li Hongyi. According to his sister Lee Wei Ling, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong wants to pass the premiership to his senior civil servant son Li Hongyi, in similar fashion his father Lee Kuan Yew handed over the premiership to him.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has repeatedly abused power to defy his father’s last will to demolish 38 Oxley Road, which led to the protests of his younger siblings who vowed to carry out their father’s wishes. In July, the dictator Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong abused the Parliament to clear himself of corruption charges and now uses the Attorney General to prosecute his nephew and brother.
