A train fault has occurred on the Downtown Line (DTL) affecting all stations between Bedok North and Mattar at around 2pm today (Oct 21). Each train saw a delay up to 5 minutes at each stop, but the service disruption was covered up by train operator SBS Transit.
Commuters took to Facebook and Twitter reporting the delays, while SBS Transit made no announcement. There was also no alternative shuttle bus service provided.
This is the second fault in a single week after the newest train line officially opened – and broke down – a week ago on Oct 15. On Tuesday (Oct 17), Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan commented on the DTL train fault and attributed the breakdown to “bad luck”.
