After suffering a traumatic 50% pay cut, Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan Jin now speculates that there are ghosts in some HDB apartment units. The former Minister who recently got demoted first posted on his Facebook page claiming that he had an other-world encounter from a resident’s complaint:
“From time to time, we encounter issues that may be beyond an MP’s ability. And I mean waaaaay beyond. House visit this evening. Heard a neighbour giving feedback about dragging chairs in flat above. I thought…sigh, another neighbour dispute. Except that there is no one living in the flat. The resident had passed on and flat is empty. Okaaaay….”
The part-time Speaker of Parliament who recently received a full-time appointment as Deputy Chairman at Mandai Park Holdings told state media Straits Times that he encountered some complaints about noises that could not be scientifically explained:
“I personally encountered a few cases where the sounds were odd and there did not seem to be a scientific reason behind it. For example, there is a block where there is a loud banging sound in the wee hours of the morning, but no one seems to be able to narrow it down to a specific source. Despite repeated efforts, this continues to remain a mystery to us all.”
The former army general was demoted from his ministerial profile after he failed at the Ministry of National Development, Manpower ministry, and finally wasted his last chance at the Social and Family Development ministry. Tan Chuan Jin was also named the first loser of the race as the successor for Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
