With no financial training or experience, Halimah Yacob irresponsibly signed the approval for the 2018 Budget. The trojan of Budget 2018 is the impending GST increase in 2021, which the self-proclaimed “champion for the people” President deliberately left the hotly-resented issue unaddressed. The PAP MP-turned-President who won by default without an election waxed lyrical about the Constitution and Elected Presidency on her Facebook page, and posted motherhood statements with no substance or references to specific spending of the Budget:
“I believe that our people have great strengths and tenacity. We have weathered many storms together. We have time and again shown the world what a small country can achieve. Since I became President, I have met quite a number of world leaders from developed and developing countries and they have great admiration for us. I am confident that we will rise to the occasion and can together build a better future for our children and grandchildren.”
Halimah Yacob is a puppet President appointed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. With Lee Hsien Loong’s control over the Election Department, her two opponent contestants were disqualified giving her a walkover.
