In a rumour released by state media ChannelNewsAsia, Education Minister Ng Chee Meng will lose his portfolio and be transferred to take over Minister Chan Chun Sing’s position as Minister of State and NTUC secretary-general. According to the state media, NTUC’s central committee have been instructed to rally their support behind Ng Chee Meng under direct orders of Lee Hsien Loong.
Since his appointment less than two years ago in Nov 2016, the useless former army general did nothing for Singapore’s education system as one of the two Education Ministers, and literally nothing for public transport as the Second Minister for Transport. Ng Chee Meng used to be the Chief of Defence Force, before being roped in to politics through nepotism.
Also a former army general, Minister Chan Chun Sing will likely become the next Deputy Prime Minister after leaving NTUC, the ruling party’s powerful political division, and take over dictator Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as the new PM.
Minister Chan Chun Sing is however deeply unpopular with Singaporeans, with many in the ruling party preferring Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat as PM. The two are fighting for the PM seat, refusing to give up their bid for the dictatorship position.
Unfortunately for the Finance Minister, the army general is a preferred candidate for Lee Hsien Loong as Chan Chun Sing is more obedient. Minister Chan Chun Sing will also most likely oblige to hand over the premiership to Lee Hsien Loong’s son, Li Hong Yi – who, at a tender age of 31, already a director with the propaganda ministry, Ministry of Communications and Information.
