Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s nephew Li Shengwu has been ordered to pay costs of an undisclosed amount after his application to the court was dismissed. The application was to contest the AGC’s serving of Singapore court papers in the United States, which is out of Singapore’s jurisdiction.

According to Li Shengwu’s lawyers in Singapore, the Singapore judge dismissed the application with “costs”:

“Earlier today, we attended the hearing of our application before Justice Kannan Ramesh. After considering written and oral submissions, Justice Ramesh dismissed the application with costs.”

It is unknown how much did the Singapore judge asked for, but Li Shengwu’s lawyers said their client is appealing the dismissal.

Li Shengwu wrote a private Facebook post which are only shared among his friends, that Singapore has a “pliant” court system and the dictatorship is “very litigious”.

The private post was screenshot by a spy working under Lee Hsien Loong, and sent to the Attorney General Chambers. The Attorney General, Lucien Wong, is Lee Hsien Loong’s former private lawyer, while the Deputy AG, Hri Kumar, is a former PAP MP. The AGC then used the screenshot to file contempt of court charges against the Prime Minister’s nephew.

Li Shengwu’s parents, Lee Hsien Yang and senior counsel Lee Suet Fern, are currently in self-exiled in Hong Kong after they were accused of doctoring the late Lee Kuan Yew’s will by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The dictator PM abused parliament powers to clear himself of any wrongdoing and over-write his father’s late will to demolish 38 Oxley Road.

Li Shengwu himself is self-exiled in US, where he will be a Harvard professor this year. Li Shengwu has made it clear that he will not return to Singapore to face the contempt of court charges.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong sees Li Shengwu, a Harvard academic, as a threat to his own son, Li Hongyi. The second son of Lee Hsien Loong is currently a senior director with the propaganda ministry. Lee Hsien Loong’s sister, Lee Wei Ling, confirmed that her dictator brother wants his son to become the next Prime Minister.
