Each one is calling the other “fake news”.
Local news website TheOnlineCitizen (TOC) published an article today (Apr 15) reporting that a football league match has to be cancelled because PAP MP Lee Bee Wah called to switch off the lights. According to TOC, an official interviewed verified that the PAP MP made the call to the Centre Manager who switched off the lights while the match was ongoing at the 69th minute.
TOC reported that PAP MP Lee Bee Wah likely have acted on the complaints of residents from a nearby condominium. The Yishun Stadium is however supposed to operate until 10pm, not 9pm.
The news attracted several PAP members jumping to the PAP MP’s defence. A press release from Warrior’s FC Facebook page stated that there was a “floodlight failure” on the dot of 9pm, which TOC dismissed as a “fake news” because the clubs were instructed to give the same technical glitch excuse.
PAP members Danny Ngiam and Joseph Tan called TOC “fake news” and engaged in a lengthy comment battle with TOC’s Facebook admin. Things became interesting when TOC posted a photo of Danny Ngiam with other PAP members.
