Praised by World Health Organisation, “Gold Standard” Singapore just reported 233 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 2,532 – double that of Hong Kong’s 1,005 and 8 times over Taiwan’s 388.
The irony came harder on Singapore after Trade Minister Chan Chun Sing mocked at Hong Kong in an earlier leaked audio recording and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong gave interviews to foreign media teaching other countries how to control the outbreak.
The number of unlinked cases exploded to 167, with the Ministry of Health unable to complete contact tracing thousands of suspect cases. 7 new clusters were identified, on top of over 25 existing clusters.
A McDonald joint at Geylang East Central is the latest cluster with 5 employees infected. These workers also worked at other outlets in Lido in Balestier, Forum Galleria in Orchard Road and Parklane in Selegie.
Foreign workers infection also continued to increase like wildfire, with over 66 reported cases yesterday.
