APP is an Indonesian company with an office in Singapore, and its suppliers are involved with the slash-and-burn forest-clearing method. The NEA investigation revealed that APP and along with 4 other Indonesian companies are suspected of starting fire. NEA has since served 5 notices of Preventive Measure Notices to the 5 companies. NTUC FairPrice has since sought clarification from its supplier APP.

The Singapore government is still unsuccessful in identifying the companies involved with starting of fire in Indonesia and has not charged any company despite making promises to do so last year. As of today (Sep 27), the haze in Singapore has subsided and reached Moderate range below 100. Schools will resume tomorrow if the air quality remains below hazardous range.
