People’s Republic of China (PRC) citizens living in Singapore are bringing their complains to China forum, 新加坡眼, on WeChat. Just today (Sep 30), the Ministry of Education announced the increase of monthly school fees for non-Singaporean students by S$20 to S$150 from 2016 onwards.

Most complains are made by PRC parents whose children are studying in Singapore. One mother whose child is still studying Primary 3 and have been here for 5 years said that there was no avenue for her to become a Permanent Resident or citizen, miserably said that she still has many more years to go. Another commentator said that Singapore is forcing PRC citizens to convert citizenship. While another complain it is unfair and off-putting. However, another commentator pointed out the school fees are still many times lower than international school fees in other countries like Australia.
