A minor accident happened during the maintenance of a Singapore Airlines (SIA) Airbus A330-300 this morning around 8am. When the plane (registration 9V-STG) was undergoing a landing gear system check, the nose gear supporting the nose of the plane retracted, resulting in the plane hitting the floor and ripping the front door off from its connector walkway.
The affected plane was supposed to fly to Hongkong this morning at 7.35am, but another plane has been used instead with the take-off schedule delayed to 8.18am according to online flight schedules. Nobody was hurt in the incident and only one engineer was on board the plane.
