Singapore’s leading telecommunication provider, Singtel, is seeing service disruption to its fibre broadband network today (Dec 3) from 9.43am. Complains made on Facebook however indicated that the service outage started as early as 8am. As of press time at 3.18pm, the service remains disrupted.
The network disruption led to flood of comments from angry Singtel customers on Facebook and Twitter.
Singtel has repeatedly apologised but has not given any time frame when services will resume.
Update: Singtel to waive mobile data charges for today. Services is still down.
Just a week ago on Nov 25, Singtel was fined S$145,000 for two separate service disruptions. Investigations revealed that damaged fibre optic cables were the cause of both incidents.

Jan 5, 2016 – 3 hour pay TV disruption, fined S$90,000
Oct 1, 2015 – 1 hour pay TV disruption, fined S$55,000
Feb 3, 2015 – 2 hour pay TV disruption, fined S$90,000
May 15, 2013 – 9 hour pay TV disruption, fined S$220,000
May 13, 2012 – 2 hour pay TV disruption, fined S$180,000
