According to an employment survey by Compass Offices, 93% of the Singaporean employees surveyed work more than 8 hours a day. Of the 93%, 33% work more than 10 hours a day while 6% work over 11 hours a day.

Among the 1,200 survey respondents across 7 countries (Australia, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam), Singapore work the longest hours in the world.

The damning employment statistic coincides with the employment figures given by the Manpower Ministry which puts Singapore as the only society working the most hours in the world.

73% of the surveyed said that they bring their work home and 19% of them do it on a daily basis. When it comes to employment outlook, Singaporeans come in more pessimistic than Hong Kong with less than 30% expecting a pay raise in 2017.

According to the survey, nearly all Singaporeans access news either via news websites or Facebook.
