NetLink Trust’s CEO Ng Yong Hwee also said:

“We put in all available resources to ensure a speedy and safe recovery and are glad that we managed to restore service ahead of our original estimate. We are continuing to work closely with LTA and its contractors to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent damage to underground cables. We also urge other contractors to consult NetLink Trust on the necessary precautions before carrying out earthworks.”

With the exception of M1, the other two internet service providers Singtel and Starhub did not post an update on their Facebook page over the outage. Singapore have recently been seeing an increasing number of service outage especially in the mobile and internet services. In June 11 this year, there was a major 14-hour mobile and home broadband service outage island-wide because a LTA contractor damaged the fibre network cable during the construction work for the new train line.
