Singapore’s government-controlled media The Straits Times fired its first savour of political bias by calling Singaporeans present at the nomination centre who boo-ed the ruling party PAP’s Aljunied GRC team as “heckling”:
However when the PAP supporters boo-ed at the Opposition at another nomination centre in Marsilling-Yew Tee today, The Straits Times did not call out their act as “heckling”:
The Straits Times is part of the Singapore Press Holdings conglomerate, and with Mediacorp, the two only legalised media companies ranked 153th in press freedom and independence in 2015.
