A China national man was jailed six months for punching a beautician woman after his surgically-removed mole was not healing. According to court hearings, Xia Tao, 21, went to M&D Brow Beauty at Blk 520 Lor 6 Toa Payoh in Nov 2017 to remove a mole.
Two months later in Jan 2018, the China national went back to the clinic and complained that there was a faint dark patch where his mole was. Beautician Kang Yi Duo, 39, explained that recovery rate differs from people to people, to which the China national said:
“If this is China, I would beat you.”
The beautician retorted: “This is Singapore. We talk about law.”
Angered by her response, the China man grabbed her head and frantically punched the back of her head continuously for 13 times.
After the ordeal, the beautician called the police and was then taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where she was reported to suffered deformity over her left middle and ring fingers from the impact.
The photo of Xia Tao has been covered up by local state media, as foreigners are often spared media coverage as part of the government’s unofficial “integration” directive.
