Body parts of cats ruthlessly mutilated were found at the precinct of Tampines Dormitory which houses foreign workers. According to the Cat Welfare Society, a volunteer cat feeder alerted them of the severe cruelty where body parts were found except for the cat’s torso while another car was mutilated. The two cats are about 5 months old with one being a ginger cat and the other a tabby cat.
The dormitory’s cleaner found a leg and tail of the tabby cat at Block 1 and 2 of the 17-block dormitory around 11am this morning (Sep 15), who then alerted his property officer. The Cat Welfare Society was alerted by the property officer and they later found the head of the tabby cat when they searched the vicinity. The other ginger cat was found with its internal organs scattered around it.
The Singapore authorities AVA and SPCA have sent in their officers to investigate the case of animal cruelty. Under the Animal and Birds Act, any person convicted will face a maximum jail term of 12 months or fine up to S$10,000.
