The real reason why the General Election cannot be called

Minister Heng Swee Keat declared that the General Election cannot be called today for only one reason: the PAP government has screwed up terribly in the coronavirus outbreak.

It appears Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his 4G goons do not even take in the lies churned out by their propaganda. If the PAP government has indeed done well handling the virus, all the more they would call for an election immediately.

Minister Heng Swee Keat’s revelation is undoubtedly a sign of no confidence, and there are good reasons why so.

1) Singapore failed to impose border controls early enough to stop imported cases from China in early January. The same mistake repeated in end February for Italy, France and South Korea.

2) Singapore ran out of face masks, and even the GP clinics do not have them today.

3) Singapore failed to pick up infected cases showing early symptoms, and instead send them away on 5 days MC. This resulted in numerous infected being forced to visit two or more GP clinics.

4) Result speaks for itself: 178 cases today, a 50% surge in less than a week.

5) Singapore businesses are left to die. Retail and FnB shops are closing down because the government refuse to offer rent rebates.

6) Leave of Absence was screwed up, and it has to be scrapped after more than 16 foreigners ignored the order.

7) The Ministry of Health is dishonest with statistics. First, censoring the number of uncontactable suspect cases, then censoring the total number of confirmed cases and now labelling locally infected cases as “imported”.

8) Economy crashed, but no stimulus package. Singaporeans need more cash than ever, but nothing came in.

9) Minister Heng Swee Keat still demands tax increase and 9% GST.

10) Minister Chan Chun Sing’s scandal on leaked audio clip.

In addition, the decision to delay the elections is not because the situation will get better, as the Deputy Prime Minister himself confessed that the situation is going to worsen. The election is delayed because the PAP government is trying to stay in power for as long as they can.

In fact, it would not be a surprise Lee Hsien Loong ban the General Election altogether. Most Singaporeans will disagree with a ban on election, but what can they do – just as they disagree with the GST increase, 2017 Reserved Presidential Election, millionaire ministerial salaries and POFMA?

Don’t get me started laughing; what can Singaporeans do when the election is banned? Protest at Hong Lim Park?
