PAP MP Tin Pei Ling lashed out at Singaporeans for being nasty and that they are wrong about her being an airhead:
“I felt wronged and hurt, but I realised that what I suffered was really just face issue, pride, reputation.”
In a featured interview with state media Straits Times, MP Tin Pei Ling said she is now “stronger” and her image has “transformed”:
“So there was also this additional dimension that was motivating me. There’s this song, if it doesn’t kill you, you will get stronger. So sometimes these pop songs help… Because of the opportunity that they have given me, I’ve been able to, I don’t know whether ‘transform’ is the right word, but change from the supposedly young-looking girl who was basically hit left, right, centre, in 2011 to who I am today. And so for that I am grateful.”
MP Tin Pei Ling also said that residents and grassroots leaders treat her like a daughter and she is very welcomed by the community:
“They’re very welcoming… in a way I’m like their daughter, or granddaughter in some instances.”
PAP MP Tin Pei Ling is the wife of the former private principal secretary of dictator Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Through nepotism, she was given a sure-win seat at Marine Parade GRC under Goh Chok Tong’s team. Her husband, Ng Howe Yue, was promoted 4 times in 5 years after she became MP, and now sits as the chairman of the Energy Market Authority.

Till date, PAP MP Tin Pei Ling passed no proposals or changes to any policy. The MP is known as a seat warmer and a crony of the Prime Minister to pass laws as the Prime Minister wishes. MP Tin Pei Ling can only speak in Singlish, a broken form of Singaporean English, and is unable to give speeches without a transcript, or engage in a public debate. The PAP MP was also disrespected by former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, who walked away while she was giving a speech:
Corruption and nepotism remains the cancer of Singapore society, with the current administration leading the practice in the name of meritocracy. The ruling party stays in power through undemocratic election laws and the abuse of police force and judiciary to oppress dissident voices in the name of sedition and defamation.
